El presidente de El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, dijo este domingo que “el uso de la fuerza letal está autorizado” para los cuerpos de seguridad en defensa de sus vidas y de los ciudadanos ante el alza de los homicidios registrada desde el viernes y atribuida a las pandillas, acusadas de la mayoría de asesinatos cometidos en el país.
El mandatario también instruyó que los miembros de la Policía y del Ejército den prioridad a la escalada de homicidios en medio de la pandemia de COVID-19, lo que supone un duro golpe a la estrategia de contención con la vigilancia de los uniformados en la calle.

Footage provided by El Salvador's Presidency show inmates at the Izalco prison lining up in tight lines during a security operation during the coronavirus pandemic, northwest of San Salvador, Saturday, April 25.
Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele late on Friday ordered a 24-hour lockdown of prisons containing gang members, and said their leaders would be sent into solitary confinement after a sudden spike in homicides during the day.
Bukele said the “maximum emergency” lockdown would be enforced while police investigated some 22 homicides reported on Friday.
Only a few years ago, El Salvador, which has long been plagued by powerful street gangs known as maras, had the highest homicide rate in the Americas.
El Salvador has imposed some of the strictest measures in the Americas to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
Riots have broken out at prisons all over the world including in Argentina, Cameroon, and Malawi as the global health crisis exaggerates.
Inmates are protesting hygiene conditions, lack of personal protection equipment and poor cell conditions, while some protested on the roof of prisons.

El Presidente venezolano, Nicolás Maduro, anunció este viernes 11 de septiebre de 2020 la captura el día anterior de un ciudadano estadounidense quien realizaba actividades de espionaje en las refinerías de Amuay y de Cardón en el estado Falcón. "Están todas las pruebas, las fotografías, los videos". Indicó que el espía estuvo prestando servicios como marine en bases de la CIA (Agencia Central de Inteligencia) en Irak. Se le capturó con armamento pesado y especializado, gran cantidad de dólares en efectivo y otros elementos, que han sido pasados al Ministerio Público. "Ya se encuentra en fase de declaración".
También indicó que hace dos días el ministro de petróleo, Tareck El Aissami, junto a un grupo de expertos e ingenieros, descubrieron y desmontaron un plan para ocasionar una explosión en la refinería de El Palito, ubicada en el municipio Puerto Cabello, estado Carabobo. Llamó a reforzar todas las medidas de seguridad internas y externas, y todos los procesos.
"Es una guerra de venganza del imperio gringo contra Venezuela, para impedir que Venezuela produzca todos los derivados del petróleo, gasolina, etcétera". Indicó que en los próximos días se dará más información sobre la captura y sus resultados.
Después de los saqueos en la avenida Manuel Piar de San Félix, en el estado Bolívar, consejos comunales de Puerto Ordaz se quejan de que todos los alimentos son desviados al otro lado de Ciudad Guayana (comprendida por Puerto Ordaz y San félix) para evitar nuevos disturbios.
Este sábado, cuando todo estaba preparado para operativos a cielo abierto en Puerto Ordaz, les avisaron a última hora que los alimentos serían llevados a San Félix. La protesta de los dirigentes comunales por dos horas hizo que que lograran obtener el despacho.
