The Israeli military has issued statements saying there have been exchanges of gunfire between its armed forces and Hamas fighters in two kibbutzim near Gaza.
Four Hamas fighters have been killed as a result, they say.
We have also been told by the Israeli military that there was an exchange of gunfire in the industrial area of Ashkelon, in which three Hamas fighters were killed.
Meanwhile, massive Israeli military buildup continues along Gaza's border.

Un padre lucha por recuperar a su hija, que se unió a la milicia terrorista de Estado Islámico. Durante cuatro años, Maik Messing no sabe si su hija Leonora sobrevivirá. Un equipo de televisión acompaña al padre durante todo este tiempo.


"Tu propia hija prefiere irse con los terroristas a estar contigo, cree que es una idea genial. Cuando te enteras, te quedas petrificado". Cuando Leonora, la hija de Maik Messing, desapareció repentinamente en 2015, la vida de su padre en Sajonia-Anhalt cambió por completo.
Maik no había notado que su hija de 15 años se estaba radicalizando. Leonora vivía su fe en secreto: en Internet, en Facebook y en grupos de WhatsApp. No tenía miedo de vivir en un estado terrorista. Tras su huida de Alemania, Leonora se casó con un terrorista alemán de alto rango, Martin Lemke, una figura clave de los servicios secretos del grupo terrorista. Leonora era su tercera esposa y vivía en el centro de la capital de Estado Islámico, Raqqa. En mensajes de audio y chats, informa regularmente a su familia en Alemania sobre su vida cotidiana en el autoproclamado califato. A partir de 2015, el padre de Leonora hace todo lo que está en su mano para traer a su hija de vuelta a Alemania: "Es un riesgo de muerte. Lo sabemos perfectamente". Durante cuatro años, un equipo de televisión acompaña al padre, mientras que él, un simple panadero de provincia, se reúne con contrabandistas sirios, negocia con terroristas y, al mismo tiempo, intenta llevar una vida normal en Alemania.
Los intentos de rescate son complicados, pues Estado Islámico no solo controla la ciudad de Raqqa, sino a cada uno de sus habitantes. Los nervios y la presión psicológica llevaron a Maik Messing al borde del suicidio. El reportaje arroja luz sobre la vida interna de Estado islámico. A veces de forma brutal, a veces desde la ingenua perspectiva de la adolescente Leonora, que a veces oye a la cantante alemana Helene Fischer en medio de Raqqa, el disputado bastión de Estado Islámico.
