Ya te hemos contado algunas cosas asombrosas que hacer en la República Dominicana, pero ¿qué cosas NO debemos hacer? intentar no recibir Chiclets de un Colmado, o liarte con un Sanky Panky harán que quieras oír esta lista de 10 Cosas que no hacer en la República Dominicana

1) No olvides relajarte
La República Dominicana tiene un ritmo de vida tranquilo acentuado por el mar. Éste es el lugar perfecto para tumbarte y relajarte. Así que si tienes un día a día agitado y quieres una pequeña pausa. Has venido al lugar adecuado. O simplemente quédate en casa y sigue trabajando duro, claro.

2) No confíes en un Sanky Panky
Los encontrarás en las playas y resorts. Estos hombres macizos y adorables, pueden parecer perfectos. Pero ten cuidado. Intentarán conquistar tu corazón, sólo para conseguir un visado de matrimonio a tu país natal. Casarse, y luego abandonarte. Así que desconfía de estos Sanky Pankys.

3) No esperes viajar solo
Siempre puede entrar una persona más en el autobús o taxi. Así que si tú y tus 3 amigos estáis viajando felizmente a vuestro destino en un taxi. No os sorprendáis si el conductor para de repente a recoger a otra persona. Compartir un viaje es muy normal aquí.

4) No olvides la música
La influencia africana y africa-cubana está muy presente en la cultura local, siendo el merengue el ritmo dominante, tocado tradicionalmente por una banda de 3 personas. Hay festivales durante todo el año y celebraciones internacionales de merengue que atraen a amantes de la música de todas partes del mundo.

5) No olvides traer cambio
Un "colmado" es básicamente una tienda de ultramarinos. Sin embargo, normalmente no tienen mucho cambio. Así que si intentas comprar algo con un billete grande, y no tienen suficiente cambio, intentarán darte la vuelta en chiclets en algo de un precio similar. Así que, a no ser que quieras llenarte la cartera de chicles trae algo de cambio!

6) No seas preciso
Aquí, si dices "chin" una vez, significa "un poquito", pero si dices "chin-chin" entonces es "un poquitillo". A no ser que digas "un poquito" lo cual significa "un poco". Así que olvídate de intentar ser preciso!

7) No olvides regatear
En la República Dominicana les encanta regatear. Esperas que negocies hasta el último céntimo. Pero sé listo. No lleves joyas caras si quieres conseguir una oferta barata, y si ves algo que te gusta, no te apresures para conseguirlo. Echa un vistazo y compara.

8) No te olvides de la Regla de Oro
No nos cansamos de repetir que cuando viajas, nunca sabes exactamente de dónde viene tu comida. Así que recuerda siempre estas 3 normas: Cocínalo, pélalo u olvídalo. Y disfrutarás de un viaje sin desagradables contratiempos...

9) No olvides probar el alcanfor
Mientras el resto de nosotros usa el alcanfor para mantener la ropa libre de polillas, los dominicanos van más allá. El alcanfor es una planta que se usa para fines medicinales para tratar la artritis, el asma, dolor de espalda, y muchas otras condiciones.

10) No dejes de ser cuidadoso
Debido a una economía inestable y alto desempleo, hay un importante nivel de crimen en la República Dominicana. Deberías vigilar tus pertenencias en todo momento. Los turistas a menudo se ven envueltos en desagradables situaciones.
