Die islamistische Hamas benutzt nach Erkenntnissen des israelischen Militärs Zivilisten als «menschliche Schutzschilde». Zudem verstecke die Hamas im Gazastreifen «terroristische Infrastruktur in zivilen Gebieten», erklärten Israels Verteidigungskräfte (IDF) am Montagmorgen in einem Beitrag auf der Plattform x (vormals Twitter). In einer mit Fotos versehenen Auflistung von «Kriegsverbrechen der Hamas» führten die IDF des Weiteren an, dass die Hamas Leichen «schändet und verstümmelt», «absichtlich Zivilisten tötet», entführe und als Geiseln halte.
Die Hamas hatte am Samstagmorgen von Gaza aus überraschend Raketenangriffe gegen Israel begonnen. Gleichzeitig drangen bewaffnete Palästinenser über Land, See und Luft nach Israel vor und griffen Menschen in mehreren Orten in Grenznähe an. Sie töteten nicht nur Hunderte Israelis, sondern verschleppten nach israelischen Angaben auch mehr als 100 Menschen, darunter Frauen, Kinder und Alte, in den Gazastreifen. Im Gegenzug bombardierte die israelische Luftwaffe unterdessen weitere Ziele der Hamas im Gazastreifen.
Israels Militär kündigt Entmachtung der Hamas an
Tel Aviv (AP) - Nach dem überraschenden Großangriff der Hamas will Israel die islamistische Palästinenserorganisation im Gazastreifen entmachten. Das sei eines der Ziele Israels im Kampf gegen die Hamas-Kämpfer, erklärte Militärsprecher Jonathan Conricus am Montag auf der Plattform X (früher Twitter).
Seine Ankündigung war konsequenter als eine vorherige ähnliche Aussage von Ministerpräsident Benjamin Netanjahu. Der hatte am Sonntag gesagt, sein Sicherheitskabinett habe die Entscheidung getroffen, die Regierungsfähigkeit der Hamas zu zerstören.
Die Hamas hatte Israel am Samstag mit einem beispiellosen Großangriff an mehreren Fronten überrascht. Die militant-islamistische Gruppe feuerte Tausende Raketen auf Israel ab, zugleich überwanden deren Kämpfer die schwer gesicherte Grenze zu Israel und entführten nach israelischen Militärangaben auch Israelis in den Gazastreifen.
An dem Angriff auf Israel waren nach Angaben des Militärsprechers 1000 Hamas-Kämpfer beteiligt. «Dies ist bei weitem der schlimmste Tag in der Geschichte Israels», sagte Conricus.

Gaza Rocket FIre:
Al Qassam Bridages, the military wing of Hamas, have announced an operation they’re calling ‘Al Aqsa Floods.’ They say they have fired thousands of rockets from the besieged Palestinian enclave towards Israel, in response to the ongoing provocations in Al-Aqsa and the measures taken towards Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
The rockets fired from Gaza are believed to have landed in Ashkelon and least one person was killed in the Kfar Aviv area of Israel.
Warning sirens have been sounded in and around Gaza as well as central and southern Israel-as far as Tel Aviv and Occupied East Jerusalem.The Israeli Army has also urged residents near the border area with Gaza to remain indoors.

The remaining clinics and emergency units have been operating without power and supplies. At least 1,300 Israelis — including 222 soldiers — have been killed and more than 3,300 have been injured.
