WATCH: President Trump meets with Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele during U.N. meetings
Speaking at a bilateral meeting at the United Nations, President Donald Trump and El Salvador President Nayib Bukele touted their joint efforts to reduce migration of Salvadorans to the United States. Acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan also said during the same media appearance that new data will show that apprehensions at the border over the past month have dropped 60 percent from their peak in May. Trump then went on to criticize Democrats for not addressing immigration and pursuing an impeachment inquiry against him instead, saying that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been overtaken by “the radical left.”
